Moderator Overview Albums 2 Lyrics Alright, so maybe I dreamed it all But the blisters on my skin they tell me different Bad dreams-sugarcoated tabs from hell Drowning in the wishing well I save for you [Chorus] Stone cold sweat I bleed to death every night Something here ain't exactly right Someone turn the wheel before I drown Beneath your mountain Oh, it's so strange Sometimes I see these things That don't exist Beyond my dreams Wake up,with nerves sprayed on the wall There's a saint across the hall, but she's not at home now Empty-too full of fear to fill up Too far gone to stop, too scared to move [Chorus]. With the mountain as a moniker, the works are rich in emotion, colour, line, and form, and are inspired by the greater tradition of abstract expressionism. Paintings are at times heavily rendered and at other times approached with careful assemblage. Pink Mountaintops is the debut album by Pink Mountaintops released by Jagjaguwar in This record was not noted by the indie rock scene untilwhen Stephen McBean 's other band, Black Mountainreleased their debut record also on Jagjaguwar. Stephen McBean supposedly wrote the material when Jerk With a Bomb who turned into the previously mentioned band were on tour, and hastily recorded it in three weeks once back in Vancouver.
Let's wax reverse chronological: Pink Mountaintops' self-titled debut was issued last year, but the album has been drawing increasingly more attention since the January release of the self-titled debut from the band's evil vinyl-schooled twin, Black Mountain. Besides sharing personnel, the albums have a lot in common. With Vancouver polymath Stephen McBean at the helm, both are notable not merely for their rootsy rock influences, but the specificity of their stylistic appropriations.

If you're not into sex, drugs, or rock, you'd best take a pass here. The throbbing kraut pulse of "Bad Boogie Ballin'" kicks off proceedings with a howling disco call, but we're soon taking flight above "Rock'n'Roll Fantasy" 's stony plains. McBean and Webber's effective duet on "Tourist in Your Town" is sure to tear at the ol' heartstrings with the tale of a love affair that wasn't meant to be.
